Tao Dong the Balance
So as the Wyrm Gate is the bridge between the light and dark dimensions of reality, Tao Dong is the embodiment of light and dark within the Gate itself. It is said that her body changes to reflect the current balance of the Gate; at any given time, her scales might be white, black, or a mixture.
The orb of light she holds in her hand is pure magic, and can be used to create new Dragon Shields. For this reason, hunters, poachers, peasants, and kings alike have sought her out. But the Wyrm Gate is not without its inherent defenses, and neither is she.
