“Like all Arcanian monarchs, Queen Lidia Athromark took her royal mandate from her ancestor, Athram the White, who ruled in the Age of Guardians (see chapter XII). A brilliant and ruthless leader, she kept her defeated foe’s heads on her person during state visits to intimidate her guests. Some say she softened later in life, as she oversaw a renaissance of poetry, art, and music. Most experts agree that the war between her son and King Mothar Vangard would have been avoided had she lived, as Mothar never would have pursued military action against the Golden Queen.”
